Race Week 2007
The Miami to Nassau race is a historical race that has attracted some of the best sailors in the world and in 2007 celebrates the race's 74th anniversary. The highly sought-after trophy is emblazoned with the names of world-famous skippers on some of the world's finest racing sailboats including Ted Turner, Dennis Conner, Dick Bertram, Ted Hood and Bobby Symonette.

Feb 10 - 9 am: Start of Miami to Nassau Ocean Race outside Government Cut.

This is an annual fund-raising event to enable the Sir Victor Sassoon (Bahamas) Heart Foundation to underwrite heart surgery for needy Bahamian children. The E. C. Bethel National Arts Festival Official Opening
The Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture will kick off their nation wide cultural festival of music, drama, dance and Junkanoo with an official opening of their National Arts Festival. Many schools, singing groups, choirs, dance troupes and individuals of different ages participate in their categories that culminate with a final concert featuring the top performers from the different categories. His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex KG KCVO ADC, comes to Nassau to celebrate 20 years of the GGYA, part of the international Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme network that has challenged almost six million young people in over 100 countries since 1956. The program seeks to extend the GGYA's reach by subsidizing more inner city school children from Nassau and to set up an endowment fund to make the Award self-sustaining.
