Bahamas Humane Society Raffle Launch

The Bahamas Humane Society launches their raffle to raise money to help neglected dogs in The Bahamas. Features Peanuts Taylor in Rawson Square drumming for the dogs and drawing peoples' attention to the plight of over 70,000 dogs in New Providence and more in the Family Islands. Senior BHS personnel will be present to answer questions on forthcoming education and community service projects. Begins 11 am in Rawson Square, Bay St.

Presented by The Star Trackers Track & Field Club and The Baker Construction Bahamas Ltd. Held under the distinguished patronage of Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie. Meet is sanctioned by BAAA open for divisions from under nine to masters, IAAF rules apply. Competing will be athletes from across the Caribbean. The Bahamas' Special Olympic athletes will make a special appearance. Held 10 am - 7 pm at the Thomas A. Arts Festival Opening

The Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture will kick off their nation wide cultural festival of music, drama, dance and Junkanoo with an official opening of their National Arts Festival. Many schools, singing groups, choirs, dance troupes and individuals of different ages participate in their categories that culminate with a final concert featuring the top performers from the different categories.
