Margaret Evans Yoga Classes

Junkanoo Summer Festival

The month-long festival is themed: "A Walk Through History," presented along Bay Street on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 am to 6 pm. The festival includes a craft fair, farmers market, face painting, caricature artists, block parties, shopping, Rake 'n Scrape Junkanoo and live music. Bay Street shops will be decorated and theme. Guided walking tours will be offered outlining the rich Bahamian history. Street blocks will have themes: Block 1 - Age of Discovery: Lucayans & Columbus; Block 2 - Age of Exploration: Eleutheran Adventures; Block 3 - Age of Pirates: Pirates & Invasions; Block 4 - Age of Loyalists: Loyalists & Slaves; Block 5 - Age of Victoria: Blockade Runners & Tourism; Block 6 - Age of War. NAGB Summer Art Workshop: "The Poetry Shack"

An intensive poetry workshop led by Christian Campbell about developing the craft and publishing in local and international journals. This course focuses on mastering many aspects such as traditional poetic forms, metaphor, tone and diction and serves as a creative laboratory in which participants translate their visions, engage with multiple traditions, build and innovate. Music & Heritage Celebration

On Saturdays until the 28th of July, on Arawak Cay, part of the Junkanoo Summer Festival features craft displays, live music, dancing, games, exhibitions, Quadrille dancing instruction, a Junkanoo Summer Camp, Junkanoo rush-outs at 5:30 pm and 10 pm and many more activities for the whole family. The Astro Club offers an astronomy tour to Fort Charlotte Hill. Bus pick up is at 7 pm from Arawak Cay. The Multicultural Make-up Workshop from 1 pm to 10 pm, is the second of two Fashion Week workshops (see July 9) where participants get dolled up to show off their new look.
