26th Annual West Indian Literature Conference

The 26th convention gathers under the theme “Horizons”. Submitted abstracts will be judged and discussed. Last Day of B.A.I.S.S. Athletics Championships

With most of the finals held on Friday, come out and cheer the schools at the Bahamas Assocation of Independent Secondary Schools Track & Field event. On Thursday night, S.A.C. lead Q.C. by 160 points, while Q.C. lead the third placers by 260 points. Held at the Tommy Robinson Stadium, Q.E. Sports Ctr. $5 adults, $3 children, $1 for uniformed kids.

Chinese Acrobat Troup On Tour

The Chinese Acrobatic Troupe, one of the world's great artistic spectacles, is on a Friendship Tour and will hold three performances at the Sir Kendall Isaacs Gym. At 2 pm on Sat. March 10 chartitable organisations are invited free of charge. On Sat. at 8 pm is a private dinner party reception for government officials. On Sunday at 4 pm the show is open to the public. The Antique Auto Club of the Bahamas has its 10th Annual Show at Arawak Cay from noon to 6 pm. Approx 44 cars vie for class trophies and a popular choice award. The public is invited to enter cars. Clocks Go Forward - Daylight Savings Time

Mornings get darker and evenings get lighter. DST in the USA will start three weeks earlier on March 11 and end one week later on November 4th. The change from previous DST dates is due to pressure from the New England states amusement parks who were unable to open before April due to lack of sufficient daylight.
