Caribbean Crisis Centres Conference

The Bahamas Crisis Centre hosts a Conference of Caribbean Crisis Centres under the theme, "Creating Partnerships to Confront Sexual Violence in the Caribbean." The conference aims to promote awareness and advocacy in combating sexual violence. Over 14 participating countries including Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, Jamaica and Suriname will be in attendance. Topics include Enlisting Corporate Support, The Undetected Rapist and The Neurobiology of Trauma. The various crisis centres will discuss what the best practices throughout the Caribbean are and will focus on prevention and how men can assist in spreading the message of anti-sexual violence. The sessions will culminate with an Anniversary Banquet for The Bahamas Crisis Centre. Held in the Crystal Ballroom at the Wyndham Nassau Resort. JBLN Fun Day & Registration Deadline

Held at the Field of Dreams Complex in Nassau East. Enjoy rides and games at the fun day from 11 am to 3 pm. The Bahamas Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation holds its first Ms. Fitness Competition and Men's Bally Boot Camp Fitness Challenge. The Fitness Competition will judge women in short, medium and tall categories and will include two piece, sports wear and cocktail gown performances. Men will be judged on physique, the Pull Up & Push Up Challenges and the Boot Camp Challenge. Apply using forms at: Bally Total Fitness, Better Bodies, Mystique Gym, Iron Man and Fanta-C Fitness.
