Caribbean Crisis Centres Conference

The Bahamas Crisis Centre hosts a Conference of Caribbean Crisis Centres under the theme, "Creating Partnerships to Confront Sexual Violence in the Caribbean." The conference aims to promote awareness and advocacy in combating sexual violence. Over 14 countries including Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, Jamaica and Suriname will attend. Topics include Enlisting Corporate Support, The Undetected Rapist and The Neurobiology of Trauma. The various crisis centres will discuss best practices and prevention and how men can assist in spreading the message. Ends with an Anniversary Banquet for The Bahamas Crisis Centre. Organized by the Film & Television Commission of the Ministry of Tourism to provide practical, hands-on experience with people in Film & Television, and to expose emerging filmmakers to the business. Track & Field Meet

Hosted by the Diocesan Youth Department of The Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos Islands. The meet sanctioned by the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations and the Bahamas Association of Certified Officials is exclusive to members of the Anglican church within the 18 parishes in the capital and throughout the remainder of Diocese. Covers a wide range of events in a variety of categories. Track events include the 50m, 100m, 300m, 400m, 1500m, 400m relay and 1600m relay. First Fitness Competition

The Bahamas Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation holds its first Ms. Fitness Competition and Men's Bally Boot Camp Fitness Challenge. The Fitness Competition will judge women in short, medium and tall categories and will include two piece, sports wear and cocktail gown performances. Men will be judged on physique, the Pull Up & Push Up Challenges and the Boot Camp Challenge. Apply using forms at: Bally Total Fitness, Better Bodies, Mystique Gym, Iron Man and Fanta-C Fitness.
